Feature
time

The Time page shows one week of your time entries as a grid: one row per ticket, one column per day from Monday to Sunday, and the logged minutes in each cell. You can type durations straight into the cells, so it doubles as the fastest way to fill in a week. It is the closest thing SAQ has to a timesheet; there is no submit or approve step, because a period close is the lock.

Before you start

  • You need to be a workspace user. Client users do not have a Time page.
  • Owners and Admins can pick another person under Person and see that person's week. They can open and change that person's existing entries, but cannot add new entries for them: an empty cell on someone else's grid is read-only.

The Time page

  • Previous and Next move one week at a time. Week starting Monday takes any date and snaps to that week's Monday.
  • Person (Owners and Admins only) switches between My time and each workspace user.
  • Log time opens the full entry dialog described in Register time.
  • The grid lists every ticket that has an entry in the week. A ticket with no entry yet is not a row until you add one.
  • Days in a closed period show Closed with a lock in the column header. Hovering it shows "Period closed on {date} by {person}".

Work in the grid

The page's own help says it all: "Arrow keys move between cells. Type a duration and leave the cell to save it; clear it to delete. Enter opens the full entry."

Action Result
Arrow keys, Home, End Move between cells. Left and Right move the caret inside a cell first and leave it at the edge.
Type a duration and leave the cell (Tab, click elsewhere) or press Enter Saves. An empty cell becomes a new billable entry with no note; a cell with one entry gets its minutes replaced. Durations use the same syntax as elsewhere: 90, 45m, 1h30, 1.5h.
Clear the cell and leave it Deletes the entry.
Press Enter on an unchanged cell Opens the entry dialog for that cell, or a new entry for that ticket and day when the cell is empty.
Escape Discards what you typed.
+ Add ticket Opens the entry dialog so you can pick a ticket that is not in the grid yet. Shown on your own grid only.

A cell that holds several entries for the same ticket and day shows their sum and a list of the entries under it: "{n} entries; press Enter to open the latest." Select an entry in the list to open it.

Totals and the weekly target

The Total row sums each day, and the line under the grid sums the week. If you have set Expected minutes per week under Account → Preferences, the line reads Total: 32h / 37h30 weekly target. The target is advisory: nothing stops you logging less or more, but the pre-close checklist lists weeks below it.

Cells you cannot type into

Cell Why
A day in a closed period Work facts are frozen. Owners and Admins see Correct… under each original entry there.
An entry a billing run has priced Frozen until the run is voided.
A cell with several entries Open one of the listed entries instead.
An Adjustment A correction; only Owners and Admins can change it, and only its minutes, note, and start time.
Another person's entry Only Owners and Admins edit other people's time.
An empty cell on another person's grid Nobody logs time on someone else's behalf.

Corrections in the grid

When an Owner or Admin corrects an entry in a closed period, the correction is a new entry dated today with signed minutes. It appears in today's cell, marked Adjustment, on the same ticket row; the original cell in the closed period does not change. See Correct time in a closed period.

Internal work

Internal work is logged like any other work, on a ticket in a project whose billing client is Internal work (no client). The page's hint, "Log internal work on the Internal project", assumes the workspace has such a project; create one under Projects if it does not. Internal entries appear in reports with no billing client and are never priced.

Common problems

"No time logged this week." The grid is empty because nothing has been logged in the selected week. Use Log time or + Add ticket.

"Enter a non-zero duration, for example 1h30. Negative minutes require a correction." What you typed is not a duration, or it is zero or negative. Negative time only exists as a correction of an entry in a closed period.

"The period is closed. Log forgotten work in an open period." You typed into a cell whose day is in a closed period. Log the time on an open date instead.

"This entry has been billed and cannot change." A billing run has priced the entry. Only voiding that run frees it.

The cell will not take input and there is no lock. You are looking at another person's grid, the cell has several entries, or the entry is an Adjustment; see the table above.
