An organization is the customer that pays for SAQ. It owns the plan, the subscription, the seat limit, and the API rate limit that its workspace runs under. Today an organization has one workspace; the two are managed together, and only an Owner sees the organization under Settings → Organization.
How it relates to other concepts
- Seats count workspace users plus pending invitations. Client users, contacts, and agent accounts do not take a seat.
- The plan sets the API request budget shared by every API token in the workspace, on top of the per-key limit.
- The plan decides whether single sign-on and SCIM provisioning can be set up.
- The organization's audit log records structural actions in the workspace; an Owner reads the 200 most recent entries.
Rules
- Subscription states: Trial, Active, Past due, Canceled, Lapsed, Complimentary, Invoiced.
- Plans: Team (5 seats, 300 API requests per minute, no SSO or SCIM), Business (25 seats, 1 200 per minute, SSO and SCIM), Enterprise (unlimited seats, 3 000 per minute, SSO and SCIM, priced on contact). A trial lasts 30 days with unlimited seats and every feature.
- A seat limit of "no limit on this plan" means unlimited. When every seat is used, inviting another workspace user fails with "This plan has no remaining seats."
- Plan features gate only new setup. What is already configured keeps working after a downgrade and can be turned off or removed, but nothing new can be added.
- The workspace is read-only when the subscription has lapsed or the trial has expired. The banner reads "The workspace is read-only. Open the billing portal or start Checkout to restore it."
- Payment is by card through Checkout, or by invoice (e-mail or EHF/Peppol) on request.
Example
Acme is on the Team plan with 5 seats. Four consultants are members and one invitation is pending, so all 5 seats are in use. Adding a fifth consultant means withdrawing the invitation or changing plan. Adding ten client users at Acme's customers costs nothing.
