SAQ has one layout for every page: a sidebar on the left, a top bar with the page title, search, and a New button, and the content in the middle. What the sidebar shows depends on whether you are a workspace user or a client user.

The sidebar for workspace users

Entry What it opens
Inbox Email that has not been routed to a project yet. The badge is the number of waiting messages. See Triage the Inbox.
Review Restricted review items. Shown only when there is at least one. See Restricted review.
My work Assigned to me, Reported by me, Watching, Due soon. See My work.
Board Every ticket you can see, one column per state. See Use boards.
Tickets The filterable list. See Find tickets.
Projects The first six projects, then All projects.
Clients Customer accounts: users, contacts, pricing, documents.
Time Your weekly grid. See Weekly grid.
Reports Minutes and money by person, project, ticket, client, period, category, or outcome. See Run reports.
Documents Client timesheets you may download.
Billing Periods and billing runs. Not shown to Members.
Settings Workspace configuration. Not shown to Members.

The sidebar footer links to Account with your name and email. The workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar offers Switch workspace and All workspaces.

The sidebar for client users

Entry What it opens
My work Tickets assigned to you, reported by you, that you watch, or that are due soon.
My tickets Every ticket you can see, with filters.
Board Shown only if you are elevated on at least one project.
Projects The projects you are elevated on, listed by name.
Documents Shown only to billing contacts. Client timesheets for your client. See Billing contact.

Client users have no Inbox, Time, Reports, Clients, Billing, or Settings. See Client user.

The top bar

  • Search opens the command palette (the same as ⌘K / Ctrl+K).
  • New creates a ticket. See Create a ticket.
  • The language select switches the interface language and, while you are logged in, saves the choice as your language preference (the same setting as under Account → Preferences).

The command palette

Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K, or press /, to open Search and commands. Type to search tickets (the first eight matches) or to run a command such as opening a page, creating a ticket, or logging time. Use ↑ and ↓ to move, Enter to open, Esc to close.

Keyboard shortcuts

Press ? anywhere to open the shortcuts sheet. Shortcuts marked "workspace users" are not listed for client users, because the pages they open do not exist for them.

Keys Action
c New ticket
/ Search
⌘K / Ctrl+K Search and commands
g then i Inbox (workspace users)
g then b Board
g then p Projects
g then t Time (workspace users)
g then m My work
j / k Move down / up through a list
? This sheet

In the ticket composer, ⌘Enter (Ctrl+Enter) sends the comment. On the Inbox and Review pages, j and k move through the messages and Enter opens the selected one.

Moving cards on the board with the keyboard

Boards support drag and drop with the mouse and with the keyboard. Focus a card, then: press space to pick it up, use the arrow keys to move it between columns, press space to drop it, or Escape to cancel. Screen readers announce "Picked up ACME-184", "Over In progress", and "Dropped in In progress". Every card also has an actions menu with Open ticket, Move to…, and Assign to….

How search works

Search in the palette and in the Search filter on the Tickets page matches:

  • the ticket title (also partial words),
  • the description,
  • comments, but only comments you are allowed to read: a match in a Staff comment is never shown to a client user, and a match in an Internal comment only to workspace users and elevated client users on that project,
  • the ticket id, such as ACME-184, or just the number 184.

Search never shows a ticket you cannot see. Results are ordered by last update. See Find tickets for the full filter set.
